How clean and well-organized your bedroom impacts your sleep hygiene significantly. To enjoy optimum relaxation in your oasis, you must aim for a clutter-free space so you sleep peacefully at night and wake up to a beautiful morning each day.
Do a regular sweep daily
Cleaning the clutter in your room starts with the nitty-gritty bits that the naked eye could miss. Yes, the dust and dirt must be your first targets. They are irksome and pollute your indoor air as much as they make your surfaces look ugly.
Declutter the surfaces
The more often you declutter, the less time it will take each session. For example, if you declutter daily, you may well be done in 10 minutes or less. On the other hand, if you do it once a week, you may need anything from 30 minutes to an hour, putting items in their rightful places and stashing the trash into the bins.
When you declutter, come with a recycling bin and laundry hamper. The trash goes to the recycling bin, and the dirty clothes and linens go to the laundry hamper. You may also need a third container, which will serve as a catch-all basket for items out of place. You can sort those things afterward and put them back in their proper rooms.
As you declutter, start with surfaces out in the open, like your nightstands, desks, and bed. Then, head for your drawers, and arrange the things inside, taking out items that are not supposed to be there.
Clear your bespoke fitted wardrobes of clutter regularly. With their usually enormous spaces, a load of items ends up in fitted wardrobes, as people comfortably stash them inside to remain out of sight. However, it is not wise to use your beautifully designed closet in vain. So, remember to neatly tuck your clothes and personal belongings, making sure they maximize the use of available space. Every few months or so, weed out your garments, letting go of those you rarely use and do not intend to use again because they no longer fit or are already out of fashion. Thinning your clothes will make your closet look neat.
Make your bed
Keep your bed fresh and tidy, so it stays inviting any time of the day for quality relaxation. Wash and replace your beddings regularly, at least once a week, to keep them smelling clean. Clear stuff that does not belong on the bed. That way, nothing would interfere with your sleep. You can easily switch to a restful state if you have a spacious, fluffy space to retire to at the end of the day.
The state of your bedroom has so much to do with your overall well-being. When it is clean and dandy, it can be the perfect oasis where you can recharge and find tranquillity to counter your hectic day at work. But, unfortunately, it sometimes becomes an accessible dumping ground for countless stuff. That’s why you must commit to regular decluttering, transforming it into the space you always dreamed of.
