Cleaning Method One
What you need:
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- Warm Water
- ½ cup Hydrogen Peroxide
- Scrubbing brush (use the softer kind or you will scratch and mark your pot)
Instructions:
- First pop the baking soda into kettle with the warm water.
- Give it a good scrub
- If there are still stains, use the Hydrogen Peroxide and a further 2 tablespoons baking soda
- Let sit for 30 minutes
- Empty out and then pour hot water inside the pot
- Clean as usual with detergent and hot water
Cleaning Method Two
What you need:
- Dishwashing Pod
- Boiling Water
Instructions:
- Pop the dish washing tablet into the kettle along with boiling water
- Swirl around a bit
- Then let it sit for 30 minutes
- Pour out and rinse thoroughly
Cleaning Method Three
What you need:
- A few Ice Cubes
- ½ cup Vinegar
- Teaspoon Salt
Instructions:
- Mix all of the above into the kettle
- Swirl around a bit to cover all the sides
- Let it sit till the ice melts
- Rinse thoroughly
Cleaning Method Four
What you need:
- Commercial-Grade Espresso Cleaner (The espresso cleaner pods can be found at most supermarkets or specific coffee stores)
- Water
Instructions:
- Let the mixture sit for an hour
- Rinse thoroughly
Cleaning Method Five
What you need:
- Denture Cleaning Tablets (Yes, you heard right)
- Ask at your local dentist or pharmacy for the denture cleaning tablets as they work a charm on stainless steel and are safe.
Instructions:
- Dissolve the tablets in hot water and let the pot sit over night
- Rinse thoroughly
Cleaning Method Six
What you need:
- Clorox Bleach and Hot Water
- Half a cup of Clorox
Instructions:
- Fill up with hot water
- Let sit for 30 minutes
- Pour out mixture
- Rinse thoroughly
Clorox stain remover also works a charm – especially on the outside of the pot

What to avoid so that your stainless steel pot won’t get too grubby too quickly and what to avoid when deciding to clean your pot:
- Throw out the old coffee daily
- Soak in hot soapy water daily
- Avoid scouring and scrubbing
- Avoid harsh chemicals
- Ensure you rinse the pot thoroughly each time you clean it.
- You don’t want, heaven forbid, a soapy taste in your mouth or worse still the possibility of swallowing harsh chemicals.
